Research integrity
In this workshop, participants will learn more about research integrity, its main principles, and its importance in research publishing. We will introduce the main, broad concepts of research integrity and provide examples of good practices that journal editors can implement in their own settings, regardless of the disciplinary field. Further, we will discuss developing standard operating procedures for research integrity practices within the publishing setting to give participants concrete examples of how research integrity can be promoted and how research misconduct and other detrimental (questionable) research practices can be avoided in publishing. We will touch upon the practices of handling image manipulation and using artificial intelligence tools in scholarly publishing. The exercise focused on dilemmas in research publishing will enable group work and discussions among participants to share their experiences with research integrity and handling research misconduct.
