Assistant professor, documentalist and data specialist at the Department of Current Bibliography of the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Literary scholar and Python programmer. Co-author of the Polish Literary Bibliography. He is interested in space in contemporary literature and literature in space. Attempts to use the achievements of Bibliographic Data Science on the Polish ground. Member of the Bibliographical Data Working Group in DARIAH. Involved in Polish and European research projects, including DARIAH-PL, TRIPLE and ATRIUM.
The Role of Metadata in Scholarly Communication
The workshop will focus on the role of metadata (persistent identifiers, keywords and abstracts) in the publishing process and in communicating the results of scientific research. Categories of presence and visibility of scientific content in databases and discovery services and the use of Linked Open Data structures will be proposed. Practical possibilities of actions to increase the visibility of scientific production will be discussed with a focus on what the author, the publisher and the university library can do.
